Common questions
- Can Wyandotte Nation citizens apply for health insurance outside open enrollment?
- Yes. Members of federally recognized tribes, including Wyandotte Nation citizens, can enroll in or change a Marketplace plan once per month, all year. Subject to review and qualification.
- Will I be asked medical questions?
- No. Marketplace plans cannot ask about your health history or deny you for a pre-existing condition.
- Can I keep using my tribal or IHS clinic?
- Yes. A Marketplace plan works alongside IHS, tribal and urban Indian health programs and can add hospitals and specialists outside them. Care from those providers has no cost sharing for eligible members.
- What do I need when I call?
- Your tribal enrollment/citizenship card or CDIB, an estimate of household income, and Social Security numbers for those applying. Call 281-747-9800.
- Do I have to live in Oklahoma?
- No. The monthly enrollment right follows tribal membership, not where you live. We help in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida and Ohio.
*Some ACA plans in some areas have a small one-time enrollment fee due to little or no broker compensation. Agency enrollment fees never apply to Medicare products.
We are an independent licensed agency, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Wyandotte Nation. Subject to review and qualification. Year-round enrollment applies to members of federally recognized tribes (and certain eligible family members) who qualify for Marketplace coverage. $0 premium is not guaranteed — it depends on household income, premium tax credits, household size and the plan you choose. Zero cost sharing applies to members under 300% of the federal poverty level, and for care from IHS, tribal or urban Indian providers at any income. Plan availability varies by county.
