Your main coverage options in Katy

ACA / ObamaCare Marketplace plans

The only option that guarantees coverage regardless of health history and the only place to get premium tax credits. If your household income is lower, or anyone has a significant medical history — cancer, diabetes, heart conditions, pending procedures — the Marketplace is almost certainly where you belong. Open Enrollment runs November 1 through January 15; enroll by December 15 for a January 1 start.

Lower-cost alternatives (healthy households)

If you're over roughly 400% of the Federal Poverty Level, your subsidy may have disappeared — and reasonably healthy, non-tobacco households with no pending procedures sometimes qualify for significantly lower premiums outside the Marketplace. These are not ACA-compliant qualified health plans and not everyone qualifies.

Medicare in Katy

Turning 65 or already on Medicare? Katy residents choose between Medicare Supplement (Medigap), Medicare Advantage, and Part D drug plans. Annual Enrollment runs October 15 – December 7. We compare the plans that include Katy's hospitals and your doctors.

Small business group health

Katy employers with 2+ employees can offer group health — often cheaper than sending everyone to the individual market, and a powerful hiring tool. We quote group, level-funded and ICHRA options for businesses across Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties.

Katy hospitals and why networks matter

The hospitals Katy residents ask about most are Memorial Hermann Katy, Houston Methodist West, HCA Houston Healthcare West, and Texas Children's Hospital West Campus. Not every plan includes every hospital — some Marketplace plans use narrow networks that exclude major systems. Before you enroll, we check your doctors and preferred hospitals against every plan's network so there are no surprises.

  • Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital — I-10 & Grand Pkwy
  • Houston Methodist West Hospital — Katy Fwy
  • HCA Houston Healthcare West — Hwy 6
  • Texas Children's Hospital West Campus — Katy
